NetPort is a 'plug-and-play' Serial-to-Ethernet cable adaptor
that enables any device or machine with a serial port, to become
network and Internet-enabled in an instant.
The external NetPort adaptor features an integrated web server,
allowing any device to which it is attached to be 'contacted' and
monitored via a standard Internet browser. TCP/IP protocol stacks
are embedded into the NetPort, enabling it to operate within non-PC
environments and the adaptor features a Modem Emulation Mode,
allowing it to behave like a modem but communicate over TCP/IP.
Based upon the award winning Lantronix Xport device, the NetPort
can be integrated into a system with minimal set-up, a
configuration utility is provided which allows quick and easy
customisation to suit any network or serial device.
Virtual Comm Port drivers are provided to allow a
NetPort-connected device to communicate with existing software over
TCP/IP (for Windows operating systems). Alternatively, 'direct
socket' connection can be used.

Netport is designed for worldwide deployment and as such a range
of country-specific plug-top power supplies are available for
despatch with your DVK (Development Kit). Please specify one of the
following options when ordering:
- AMC232LAN0x-DVK supplied with UK 220v 3-pin PSU
- AMC232LAN0x-DVK/E supplied with European 220v 2-pin PSU
- AMC232LAN0x-DVK/U supplied with USA 110v 2-pin PSU.
Power supplies can be supplied with the bulk NetPort part should
your application require, please contact Alpha Micro for more
details.
The Development Kit (DVK) option is offered to all customers who
wish to evaluate and prototype NetPort and consequently comes with
a PSU* and CDROM packed with useful information such as application
notes, user guide, and software utilities necessary to get NetPort
integrated into any application in a matter of hours.
We recommend all new users use the DVK to evaluate the
NetPort.
