With the launch of the new iPhone 4 in 2010, the little used
micro 3FF SIM card became widely used and accepted by the mobile
networks. These smaller SIM cards, measuring 12mm x 15mm, are now
also being used in M2M and telematic applications as their smaller
footprint offers space saving benefits to design engineers. The
cards have the same thickness and contact arrangement as standard
SIM cards and use the same size and position of pins as standard
SIM cards.
